Summer Days

Dear Summer,

You have been good to me and I hope that you will continue to show your face well into the fall months.

xo,

(M)

I was flipping through the magazine California Home + Design today--the September issue and was delighted by one home in particular that is pretty much the bomb! Talk about inspiring. This issue covers beach homes and the one I fell in love with is featured on their blog: http://www.chdresource.com/blog/sea-worthy

I wouldn't say that I have a specific architectural and design aesthetic, rather I just marvel at beautiful spaces and this one just really hit me. Safdie Rabines Architects took a narrow beachfront lot and turned it into a livable work of art. The palette of this home is so visually pleasing. It is easy to see that the colors and materials used  inside and out were chosen to reflect the colors of the surrounding nature and landscape. The gorgeous walnut tones are complimented by accents of "blue jean" granite, semiprecious “tiger’s eye” and “blue wild” agate. This home evokes a sense of warmth and serenity to me. It also doesn't hurt that it's on the water....I mean wow. Check out the article on the blog to learn more about this home and to see more amazing photos!
