And......
Mad props to Bag Raiders Thursday night @ Rickshaw Stop. Best show of 2011 so far--face melt! Amazing set and the sounds they come up with are just so right on. In their live show they do a lot with percussion, especially Brazillian percussion. It was amazing! I felt as if I hopped into Doc Brown's DeLorean and traveled not just back in time to the 80's, but to a safari of 80's synth, African / Brazilian beats with a twist of Miami Vice. That probably only makes sense to me, but that's how it felt. And to me, Bag Raiders' music sounds inspired by some of the 80's but it's definitely a new genre--a crazy adaptation that's incredibly wonderful. I am so thankful to be living now and experiencing what I think is a really important and great time in music. Musicians are pulling from so many musical influences and with their talent and modern technology combined, they are creating these incredible works of art. Bag Raiders (especially live) is where it's at. So rad! Have a great weekend. Enjoy!
